The BB Clic website launched at The Renaissance Hotel
and Lovells in Holborn to great media fanfare and critical acclaim
in October 2004.
Redmoth have developed a major Flash website,
online learning materials and e-mentoring software for the charity.
The content itself was developed by the young people involved in
the many borough-based panels across London.
The main website is based on a series of characters that have been
informed by the young people and are truly representative of young
people in today's society. The characters inhabit the *BB Clic*,
where they can go to the cinema, chill out, get help and advice
about bullying, make music, keep diaries, play anti-bullying games
and vote well-known celebrities into the BB Slammer.
The site is fully interactive with embedded video and audio content.
It forms the first phase in a body of work that Redmoth are engaged
in with beatbullying. The next phase involves further
games development (an interactive game involving characters running
around the BB Hood and dealing with bullying scenarios comes online
next month), a mini Chelsea Football Club (developed in conjunction
with CFC) featuring a player's lounge, workshop materials and football
games, and many more interactive online tools.
The website has been compared to South Park in terms of its use
of characters, and will go through ongoing phased development over
the next two years. The BB Clic currently boasts 17 microsites
for boroughs across London and will spawn more over the coming months.
beatbullying are actively seeking additional partner
agencies to connect to and link up with in terms of websites from
suitable organisations in the sector. If you are interested, please
